Wind Horse is a unique blend of Hakomi (a body-centered method of therapy) and horseback riding that helps us find our "seat" in our everyday lives.

Wind Horse calms the mind and restores peace to the nervous system. You'll feel your inherent joy naturally arise through the powerful experience of connecting with the horse. The horse offers permission to be your authentic self as he models authenticity in every moment. Let the horse hold you on his back as we step into the Permission Zone together and bring your authentic expression into the world.

Wind Horse uses the empathetic nature of the horse as a mirror in which to see yourself more clearly—the horse is a gentle and highly sensitive being that naturally listens at a very subtle level to exactly how you hold your body. As you enter a deeper, more centered state, the horse reflects the relaxation and security that arises. The horse is a steady indicator of our thoughts, our body language, tone of voice, and even how we breathe. He is a beautiful, 100% natural biofeedback device.

This work is great for facing fears, relaxing the nervous system, developing focus, and turning inward to listen to your body's messages. Through this process, old, unconscious patterns are gently brought into awareness where they may be dissolved or transformed, leaving us freer and more focused.

Wind Horse riding is not about psychotherapy or intending to do psychotherapy. It is a training exercise in mindfulness and staying present in the moment in contact with our authentic feelings.

What to Expect
You will meet Lindy at a ranch located in a private and beautiful setting near the UCSC campus. The session is held in a safe enclosed arena. No previous riding experience is needed.

Lindy is always present while you are on the horse and watching for your safety. Lindy has extensive experience in natural horsemanship and safety around horses including 35 years of horse training and teaching horseback riding.

The environment, the horse's mood, the client's emotions and behavior are constantly monitored during the session to ensure the safest experience possible. Before your first session there will be a discussion about how you need to behave around the horse to be safe as well. Lindy will teach you enough to safely get on the horse and stay in balance with it. When you are ready, Lindy helps you mount up and you begin. Please note that if it does not feel right to get on the horse, you can work on the ground until it does.

Lindy's horse is named Pye, and he is gentle, calm and sweet. You can't help but fall in love with this horse!

Sessions last one hour and cost $90.
